Insighta Limited is seeking a Principal Platform Lead to take end-to-end ownership of a clinical-grade data and systems platform supporting advanced scientific and analytical workflows.
This is an early leadership role responsible for building and shaping a new clinical-grade platform. You will lead a lean internal IT team and operate within a matrix, multi-organization environment, coordinating closely with internal teams and a broader ecosystem of external partners spanning scientific research, bioinformatics, AI, infrastructure, system vendors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
The role emphasizes system ownership, architectural judgment, vendor evaluation and decision-making, and regulatory readiness. Day-to-day development and operational execution are supported through partner teams and vendors, allowing this role to focus on direction, integration, and delivery outcomes rather than hands-on coding.
职责
Platform Architecture & System Design
- Own and define the overall system architecture for a scalable, secure platform supporting advanced NGS and analytical workflows
- Treat scientific workflows as data-intensive, compute-heavy, and regulated systems
- Define system boundaries, data flows, integration principles, and non-functional requirements
- Guide implementation and integration efforts across internal teams and vendors
Vendor Evaluation & Technology Selection
- Lead structured processes to evaluate, validate, and select third-party systems, tools, APIs, and vendors
- Define practical requirements, evaluation criteria, and real-world validation scenarios
- Drive proof-of-concept validation to assess feasibility, scalability, and compliance readiness
- Make informed recommendations and decisions on vendor selection and architectural trade-offs
- Establish vendor governance and delivery accountability
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Lead platform and system initiatives from planning through deployment
- Translate scientific, technical, and regulatory requirements into executable delivery plans
- Coordinate timelines, dependencies, and risks across a matrix of internal and external teams
- Take ownership of delivery outcomes in environments where structures are still being built
Cross-Organization Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across a lean internal IT team and a broader ecosystem of partner organizations
- Work closely with bioinformaticians, scientists, AI engineers, infrastructure teams, consultants, and system vendors to drive alignment and integration
- Lead technical decision-making and alignment across organizations through influence, expertise, and clear direction rather than direct line management
Compliance, Security & Regulatory Readiness
- Initialize and lead the setup of security and compliance foundations, including:
- Data governance, auditability and privacy
- Clinical system controls
- Security and risk management principles in both cloud-based and on-premise platform
- Ensure system design supports clinical / diagnostic use cases and future regulatory submissions
- Coordinate with external consultants and stakeholders to support regulatory readiness
Monitoring, Reliability & Lifecycle Management
- Ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place for system monitoring, performance management, and reliability
- Oversee incident handling approaches, system upgrades, and long-term maintainability
- Continuously assess platform robustness as scale and regulatory expectations evolve
Documentation & Communication
- Prepare and maintain clear technical specifications, architectural documentation, and lifecycle reports
- Communicate complex system concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support internal and external reviews through well-structured documentation
入职条件
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in platform architecture, systems leadership, or technical program roles
- Proven experience in data-intensive or regulated industries (e.g. biotechnology, healthcare, clinical systems)
- Demonstrated experience leading vendor evaluation and selection
- Strong ability to operate in matrix or cross-organization environments
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, and regulated system design (e.g. GDPR compliance and China Cybersecurity Law MLPS 2.0 Compliance)
- Fluent in Putonghua and English (spoken and written); Cantonese is a bonus
- Comfortable working across China and overseas environments

- Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- AI model training, inference, or deployment from a platform or systems perspective
- Exposure to bioinformatics or genomics platforms
