Description

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow for innovative and highly collaborative research projects in the themes of Screening Tests / Personalized Companion Diagnostics / Strategic Therapeutics Approaches / Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science Park.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project prospection with collaborators and technology partners, and undertaking follow-up actions
  • Providing technical solutions for ongoing R&D projects
  • Translating research outcomes into real use cases and commercially viable applications
  • Writing proposals, reports, paper publications and patent specification related to the project, as well as delivering convincing technical pitches to collaborators and partners
  • Mentoring junior research staff and students
  • Supporting various Centre’s events & activities
  • Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s)

Requirements

  • Field of Study: PhD degree in Applied Biology, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
  • Field of Study: PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Applied Biology, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Medicine, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Preferably with research experience in above mentioned four themes
  • Preferably with industry (corporate, non-academic) R&D experience in the Multi-Cancer Early Detection / Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) Devices for Pathogens or Chromic Diseases
  • With strong passion in conducting applied research of biomedical instrumentation
  • Fluent in English in both writing and verbal communications; clear and concise writing skills
  • Good time management with a strong sense of responsibility and research ethics
  • Mature, self-motivated, confident and able to work under pressure
  • May require collaborative working modes in different labs and physical locations
