Our research is strategically organized into three interconnected programmes that address pressing medical needs. 

Responsibilities

Applicant is invited to join the Department of AI & Omics, primarily focusing on virtual cells, AI-driven drug discovery, gene regulatory network (GRN) construction, and cell fate control models. Specifically, the appointee will: 

  1. Participate in AI-driven bioinformatics research, focusing on one or more of the following areas: Phenotype-based virtual screening of small molecule drugs; Virtual cell modeling, particularly incorporating gene regulatory networks for enhanced perturbation prediction. 

  2. Conduct literature reviews and benchmark existing methods for de novo molecular design. 

  3. Develop, train, and optimize deep learning models for biological data analysis. 

  4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement and explore algorithms for real-world biological applications. 

Requirements

  • Holding a degree of Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D.  in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field. 

  • Understanding of machine learning and deep learning concepts; familiarity with GNNs, diffusion, or transformer-based architectures is a plus. 

  • Hands-on experience with biological data (e.g., omics, molecular structures, cell imaging) is highly desirable. 

  • Strong programming skills in Python; experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. 

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. 

  • Prior research experience (e.g., publications or project contributions) in computational biology, bioinformatics, or cheminformatics is preferred.
